What this screen is
Get Started is where an empty account starts collecting mail. It shows the tracking email address that belongs to you and explains the three steps behind the product, then watches for your first newsletter while it makes its way in. Every other screen in Newsletrix is a different cut of analysed newsletters, so nothing anywhere has data until at least one email has been delivered to that address.
Only step one needs you. Copy an address that looks like
[email protected] and paste it into the signup form of any newsletter you
want to follow. Collecting the mail and analysing it happen on their own after that.
The live card at the bottom is the honest part of the page. It reports where your newest newsletter actually is and re-checks every eight seconds. Because it names the subject line of the email it found, you can confirm that the newsletter you signed up for is the one that arrived. The card covers your whole account rather than one specific address.
The address card here is a cut-down version of the one in Settings. Workspace naming, the deactivate button, the plan limit counter, the created date and the last-received badge are all missing from it. You will find them in Settings, under Email integrations. The button on this page creates one plain, untagged address and nothing else.
Nothing on the page marks setup as complete. Get Started keeps its place in the sidebar for good, which makes it a reasonable screen to come back to whenever you add a competitor and want to see that first email land.
Open it when
- You just signed up and need the address to paste into a competitor's signup form.
- You subscribed to a competitor and want to check whether the email actually arrived and is being analysed.
- Your dashboard is empty and you want to confirm that a tracking address exists and is active.
- You want a printed or PDF copy of the setup instructions to hand to a colleague who will do the subscribing.
- You need one more tracking address for a different set of brands and do not need it named.
- An email you expected never showed up and you want to see the receive time of the newest one that did.
Screen anatomy
Everything sits in one centred column. The page header comes first, then the three step cards, the address card, the live status card, and a pair of buttons at the bottom. The header is fixed copy, a rocket badge over the title Welcome to Newsletrix and the line "Track, analyze, and optimize your newsletters with AI-powered insights. Get started in 3 simple steps." Nothing in it reacts to your account. The numbers below match the numbers in the list under the mock.
Welcome to Newsletrix
Track, analyze, and optimize your newsletters with AI-powered insights. Get started in 3 simple steps.
- Sidebar and workspace switcher Get Started is the first entry in the sidebar, above every other section. The selector above it reads All workspaces by default and scopes the other screens to one named group of addresses. It changes nothing on this page.
- Three step cards Subscribe, Automatic analysis, View insights. Fixed explanation of the product. They look identical on day one and on day one hundred, and they track nothing.
- Your tracking email addresses One row for each active address on your account, newest first. This is the simplified manager, so it shows the address and a Copy button and nothing else.
- The address and the Copy button The monospace string is the only thing you have to copy. The button label flips to Copied! for two seconds so you know it reached the clipboard; if the browser refuses clipboard access you get a red message instead of silence.
- Your first newsletter The live card. Its description changes when analysis lands, and the Refresh button in the corner forces an immediate re-check. Automatic re-checks run every eight seconds.
- The four stage tiles Pending, Fetching, AI analysis, Done, each with a one-line hint. The current stage is tinted, completed stages turn emerald. When the whole thing is finished, all four tiles turn emerald together, not just the last one.
- Latest newsletter row The subject line, the sending address, how long ago it was collected, and a status pill: amber In analyzer queue or emerald Analyzed. The brand name is added in front of the sending address only once the analysis exists, so a freshly collected email shows the address alone. N in progress appears whenever anything is waiting, including when that number is 1.
- Buttons and help line Go to dashboard navigates to the Overview screen. Print instructions hides the sidebar and opens the browser print dialog, which is how you produce the PDF for a colleague. In the help line, only Visit our FAQ is clickable; it opens the About page, where the FAQ is the second tab.
Every panel explained
The three step cards
Subscribe, Automatic analysis, View insights. Together they are the mental model of the product: you do the subscribing, Newsletrix does the rest.
How it is calculated. It is not. The three cards are fixed copy with fixed numerals 1, 2 and 3, and they read nothing about your account.
How to read it. Read them as instructions. Card 1 is the only one you act on, and your real progress shows up only on the live card lower down the page.
Your tracking email addresses
Every active address on your account, newest first, each with a Copy button. Each one is
news+ followed by eight random lowercase letters and digits, at
newsletr.email.
How it is calculated. The list holds your active addresses, newest first. Most people never create one by hand. You get an address when you activate your account from the confirmation email, and another after a successful payment if you still have none. Signing up on its own does not create one, which is why a small number of accounts land here on the empty state. Free and Basic allow 1 active address, Standard 5 and Premium 15. Go over the cap and the message tells you how many of how many you already hold.
How to read it. Any address in the list works, and they are interchangeable except for the workspace name attached to them elsewhere. If you track several clients or markets, decide which address belongs to which group before you start subscribing, because the group is what separates the data later.
The empty state, before anything exists
If the account holds no active address, the card is replaced by a gradient box with one button. That button creates an address immediately, with no name attached, and the live card below tells you it is waiting for you.
Your tracking email addresses
Use these special email addresses when subscribing to newsletters.
Your first newsletter: the four stage tiles
Four tiles run left to right, Pending, Fetching, AI analysis and Done. Only this part of the screen reflects your real state.
How it is calculated. Done shows as soon as at least one newsletter on your account has been analysed, and all four tiles turn complete together. Before that, the stage reads AI analysis when your newest email has arrived without an analysis yet, Fetching when something else is still waiting, and Pending when nothing has arrived at all.
How to read it. Pending means nothing has arrived. Fetching and AI analysis both mean the email exists but its analysis has not been written yet. Done is the point where the dashboard has real data. The stage covers your whole account, so it describes your newest email rather than a particular subscription.
A newsletter appears here within about two hours of the sender delivering it rather than the moment it lands. One that went out a minute ago will almost certainly not be here yet. Refresh re-checks the status; it will not bring the newsletter forward.
AI analysis means collected but not analysed, and that covers emails Newsletrix skipped on purpose. Once your weekly analysis quota is spent, later emails are still collected but never analysed, so they never move to Done. The dashboard reports how many emails missed AI analysis in an upgrade banner.
Latest newsletter row
The subject line of the newest email on your account, its sender, how long ago it was collected, and whether it has been analysed.
How it is calculated. The row always shows the most recently collected newsletter and nothing else. Its age counts from the moment Newsletrix collected the email rather than from the sender's own send time, and it is rounded to one unit. Under a minute it reads Ns ago, under an hour Nm ago, under a day Nh ago, and beyond that Nd ago. The pill reads Analyzed when an analysis exists for that email and In analyzer queue when it does not. A missing subject line shows as (no subject).
How to read it. Treat the row as your delivery receipt. If the subject matches the newsletter you just subscribed to, both delivery and attribution to your account worked. The brand name appears in front of the sending address only after the analysis lands, so a fresh email showing the address alone is normal.
Buttons and the help line
Go to dashboard and Print instructions, with a small help line underneath.
How it is calculated. Neither button computes anything. Go to dashboard is plain navigation. Print instructions hides the sidebar, opens the browser print dialog, and restores the layout afterwards, so you can save the setup steps as a PDF and hand them to whoever will do the subscribing.
How to read it. Go to dashboard is a link and nothing more. It does not mark setup as complete, and Get Started stays in the sidebar afterwards.

|---|---|---|
| Copy | Copies that address to the clipboard; the label becomes Copied! for two seconds, or a red message if the browser blocks clipboard access | One button per address |
| Create your first email address. | Creates one active address straight away, with no workspace name. Shown only when you have none | Hidden once an address exists |

| Go to dashboard | Opens the Overview screen. It does not mark setup as complete | Always available |
| Print instructions | Hides the sidebar and opens the browser print dialog, so you can print or save a PDF | Always available |

| Workspace switcher | Sidebar control that scopes other screens to one named group of addresses. Selecting one reloads the app | All workspaces; no effect on this screen |
This screen carries no filters, sorts, date ranges, brand selectors or exports, and no progress bar. The address controls you may be hunting for sit elsewhere. Naming a workspace, deactivating an address, the plan limit counter, the created date and the last email received badge all live in Settings under Email integrations, and on the Workspaces page.
How to use it
- Decide the grouping first If you track for more than one client or market, open Settings and give each address a workspace name before you subscribe anything. Retagging later works, but the addresses you already used are the ones that carry the history.
- Copy the address Press Copy and wait for the label to read Copied!. That is the whole of step one.
- Subscribe your first competitors Paste the address into their signup forms. If a sender uses double opt-in, you usually do not have to click the confirmation link yourself; Newsletrix follows it for you.
- Come back in a couple of hours The live card re-checks every eight seconds, but a newsletter takes up to two hours to appear, so a same-minute check will almost always still read Pending.
- Verify the row, not just the tile When something arrives, check that the subject line in the latest newsletter row matches the newsletter you signed up for. That confirms both delivery and attribution to your account in one glance.
- Move on when the pill turns Analyzed That is the point at which the dashboard, the newsletter feed and every analysis screen have something to show.
Subscribe in batches sized to your weekly analysis quota. On the Free plan only 2 newsletters per week are analysed, so signing up to fifteen brands in one afternoon means most of that first wave is collected but never analysed. Start with the two or three brands you care about most, then widen the set as the quota resets each Monday.
Limits and caveats
- The three step cards are fixed copy. They never change colour or state, no matter how far along you actually are, and there is no progress bar anywhere on the page.
- The stage is account-wide rather than a report on any one email. It describes your newest newsletter, so it cannot tell you where a particular subscription stands.
- Emails skipped because your weekly quota was spent look identical to emails still being analysed. They stay on AI analysis permanently and never reach Done.
- The live card stops refreshing for good once the first newsletter is analysed. Reload the page if you want it to follow later arrivals.
- Received X ago is measured from the moment the email reached Newsletrix, not from when the sender sent it, so it can lag the real send time by up to two hours.
- Mail sent to a deactivated address never reaches your account, so deactivating an address to free a slot also ends collection through it. Newsletters already gathered stay in your account.
- Print instructions puts the sidebar back when the print dialog closes, but the spacing it restores is slightly off until you reload the page.
- Go to dashboard is navigation only. Nothing here marks setup as finished, and the simplified address card hides capabilities that do exist in Settings, which can make this page look less capable than the product is.
FAQ
Where do I get the address I am supposed to paste into a signup form?
It is in the card called Your tracking email addresses, near the top of the page. It looks like [email protected], where the eight characters after the plus sign are unique to that address. Press Copy next to it and paste it into the competitor signup form. Every address in that list works the same way.
I subscribed to a competitor but the card still says Pending. What now?
Pending means nothing has arrived for you yet. A newsletter appears here within about two hours of the sender delivering it rather than the moment it lands, so allow that long before you assume something is broken. The card re-checks every eight seconds on its own and Refresh forces one check, but neither makes a newsletter arrive any sooner. If the sender uses double opt-in, you usually do not have to click the confirmation link yourself; Newsletrix follows it for you.
Why is my newsletter stuck on AI analysis and never reaches Done?
AI analysis covers everything received but not yet analysed, including the emails Newsletrix skipped on purpose. The usual reason is the weekly analysis quota. Free gets 2 analyses per week, Basic 5, Standard 15 and Premium 50, and the counter resets on Monday. A skipped email stays in your collected list but never gets an analysis, so the card sits on AI analysis for good. The dashboard counts these in a banner telling you how many emails missed AI analysis.
How many tracking addresses can I have?
Your plan sets the cap. Free and Basic allow 1 active address, Standard 5 and Premium 15. Try to create one over the cap and the app tells you how many of how many you already hold. Deactivating an address frees a slot, but mail sent to a deactivated address never reaches your account; newsletters already gathered through it stay in your account.
Can I tag an address as Competitors from this page?
No. The workspace field is hidden in the simplified address manager shown here, so the button on this page always creates an untagged address. Assign or rename a workspace in Settings under Email integrations, or on the Workspaces page. Once an address carries a workspace name, the switcher at the top of the sidebar scopes the other screens to it. It has no effect on Get Started, which always shows every active address and the whole account.
Does pressing Go to dashboard finish setup permanently?
No. It only navigates to the dashboard. Nothing on this page marks setup as finished, so Get Started stays in the sidebar and the page remains available at any time. Come back to it whenever you add a competitor and want to watch the first email land.
